Faster everywhere.

The Cannondale SuperSix has been a household name ever since its arrival back in 2007.

Thanks to the likes of Peter Sagan and Ivan Basso we have all dreamt about owning the black and green racing machine.

Known for thinking outside the box and kicking against the norm, Cannondale has brought us some incredible bikes across all disciplines. It is not only the attention-drawing Lefty fork but they have broken barriers in every field repeatedly and have once again knocked it out the proverbial park.

The SuperSix was always intended to be the flagship race bike for Cannondale. However, since 2019 there has been a battle with the SystemSix aero race bike that many pros preferred on the flatter stages. Branded as “The Fastest Bike In The World” when it was launched, it was only it’s additional weight that left any hope for the SuperSix to survive in the Pro Peloton. The SuperSix has spent the past three years as an “option” that belies its Palmares and rich history. It was no longer the ultralight climbing machine yearned for by every hill climber, nor was it a wind cutting aerodynamic masterpiece like the SystemSix, it was good, it just wasn’t peak Cannondale SuperSix good.

Enter the fourth-generation Cannondale SuperSix Evo.

The lightest ever production Cannondale SuperSix, yes even lighter than the skinny chain stay bikes you see at the local hill-climb champs. At 770g for a 56cm frameset it is mind-blowingly light. The complete bike in its top spec lands stock standard at the UCI minimum weight of 6.8kg!

As we have all come to learn over the past few years, weight is not everything and the new SuperSix matches SystemSix levels of aerodynamics to be classified as the lightest weight vs lowest drag road bike on the market. These weight and aero gains have led to the demise of the trusted SystemSix, which is a pity as it was one of the prettiest bikes in the Peloton.

The secret behind the Hollywood style weight loss is down to the introduction of, “Series 0 Carbon.” This new grade carbon provides unrivalled tensile strength and compression allowing for the use of a single fibre. No longer do you need two compounds to achieve both strength and stiffness, Series 0 Carbon can be used independently and still meet and exceed frame safety standards. Currently this magic elixir is reserved for the new upper echelon of Cannondale’s range called Lab71. Over the years Cannondale have often had a top tier allocation however up until now we haven’t seen a completely new carbon dedicated to it. Over the years we have seen, “Legalise My Cannondale”, “SuperSix V1”, “Black Inc” and now “Lab71”. We hope to see the Series 0 Carbon filter down the range over the coming years.

The fourth-generation SuperSix has also been keenly received by mechanics and bike tinkerers worldwide. No longer using a propriety asymmetric press fit bottom bracket Cannondale has swithced to a standard BSA threaded bottom bracket and symmetrical construction. No longer do you need specifically dished wheels, you can easily grab a spare rear wheel from neutral support. Again to the delight of the wrench monkeys, the SuperSix now uses standardised 1 1/8 - 1 1/4 headset bearing sizes as a function of a propriety Delta steerer (essentially a triangular steerer) - that facilitates the internal routing of hoses. In addition, the Delta Steerer / bearing combo allows the slimming of the headtube for aerodynamics while retaining the stiffness and signature, confident handling.

Perhaps the most noticeable and aesthetically pleasing change from the previous iteration is the new Cannondale SystemBar R-One made in conjunction with MomoDesign , a one piece integrated bar with sleek aerodynamic design. This bar comes on numerous models where the lower tier models have Vision Trimax Aero bars with a Cannondale C1 Conceal stem, all of which are a massive improvement from the SaveBar and stem that was on the previous SuperSix.

Cannondale have not only focused on the frame when releasing the SuperSix, they have launched a brand new wheel to boot, that greatly improves upon its predecessor. The new Hollowgram R-SL 50mm wheelset now boasts a 32mm external width with a 21mm internal to bring it in-line with the other world class wheels out there. Laced onto hubs with DT-Swiss 240 internals with aero spokes the wheelset weighs in at 1520g for the pair. The most notable feature of these wheels is that they are hooked so you can run either tubed or tubeless and are no longer forced into a choice as is the case with many other brands out there. The lower tier models come with the Hologram R-50 wheels that weigh in at 1620g.

One of the best features from the previous SuperSix has been kept in place, the forward thinking geometry. Cannondale realised that their race bikes don’t need to be overly long and low and can be both fast and comfortable. While this not something that will really bother your professionals, us average Joes welcome it as our flexibility has been greatly reduced as we sit hunched over behind our neon screens.

While the new Cannondale SuperSix Evo has been known as the worst kept secret in the industry, we love that it has announced itself with some incredible wins even before we could put pen to paper.

We believe the new Cannondale SuperSix will be welcomed by everyone, it can sprint, it can climb and damn it looks good.

The all-new SuperSix EVO destroys expectations. So light, so fast, and so aero, it defies logic. This is a machine built to make you faster everywhere. Speed has evolved.

  • The new SuperSix EVO, while reiterated with class leading aero and weight numbers, remains true to its original design goals and honours its heritage of delivering an incredibly well mannered, yet adroit handling and racy road performance road bike. One that is also silky smooth to boot.

Indeed the SuperSix EVO is a wizard. Its blend of stability and agility needs to be experienced to be believed. Refined, neutral racing geometry and fine-tuned engineering deliver handling that is so intuitive, so controllable, you can comfortably take it right to the limit and keep it there, all race long.

Cannondale have built on the solid foundations of the previous iterations and delivered the signature ride, all while lowering weight and offering unrialled aerodynamics at those weights. Completely negating in fact, the need for a dedicated aero bike in the range.

By designing a complete bike rather than a frameset, Cannondale have retained the elegance of the SuperSix platform while integrating highly effective aerodynamics. This elevated design comes from elevated performance and ultimately result in speed that you feel.

    The Lightest of the Fast
Incredibly light. Thrillingly responsive. Blisteringly fast. Cannondale's advanced Hi-MOD carbon construction combines layers of high-strength fibers with precisely oriented layers of lightweight, high-stiffness fibers to deliver a frame that weighs just 810g, while surpassing all of their stiffness and fatigue tests. Pretty amazing for a bike this aerodynamic.

    The Fastest of the Light
When it comes to aerodynamic drag, the new SuperSix EVO is not just one of the fastest lightweight road bikes out there, it’s one of the fastest road bikes, period. Its precisely engineered tube shapes and select components shave around 9 watts off of the previous generation model at 45 km/h, putting it ahead of a lot of the pure “aero” bikes while weighing up to a kilo less (Yes. A kilo). Light or Fast?
    Why not both?

    Where it thrives

Racing, the red zone, the pointy end, the podium

    What it's built for

    Road racing, PRs, KOMs, winning

    Features:

    DELTA STEERER
An all-new steerer tube design, Delta allows for seamless integration of the bike’s cables from the cockpit down into the frameset, while shrinking the headtube’s frontal area for reduced drag. Sleek, strong, and light.

    BOTTLE INTEGRATION
SuperSix EVO’s included ReGrip Aero cages and Gripper Aero bottles do more than just hold water. They actually make the bike faster. Designed with the EVO, they create a more streamlined profile, improving the bike’s aerodynamic efficiency, while still accommodating standard round bottles from the feed zone.

    THREADED BB
Simplicity is strength, strength is speed, and speed wins races. The new SuperSix EVO embraces the threaded BSA bottom bracket standard, creating a rock-solid mounting point for the crankset for ultimate simplicity and reliability.

    COMFORTABLE CLEARANCE
Room for 30mm wide tyres (with over 6mm of clearance on either side) means SuperSix EVO can ride or race the way you want it to. Run wider tyres for more comfort and control, or slim down for lightweight responsiveness. Your choice.

    SMART CONNECTIVITY
Ready beyond race day, SuperSix EVO is compatible with Cannondale's innovative SmartSense system. Stay visible and aware of your surroundings, with on-board lights, a rear-facing radar system, and one battery to power it all.

    HOLLOWGRAM R 50 / R-SL 50 WHEELS
One of the fastest all-round race wheelsets, the new Hollowgram R-SL 50 were developed in tandem with the new SuperSix EVO and designed using the Draft Aero Philosophy. The 50mm deep, super-low drag rims, bladed aero spokes and DT Swiss 240 EXP Hub internals make them the ideal wheel to deliver the EVO's mission: Lightweight for the hills but with breakaway aerodynamics.
